Artist's Comments

Dang, they changed the categories again. Trying something new. This is a sketch I did a while back (a very rough sketch) that I thought I'd use for the purposes of experimentation with a direction I'd like to go with my art.

Done with almost exclusively filters, dodge, burn, liquify, blur, and maybe some touchup airbrush. I've never claimed to be professional, but chastise me for using filters and I'll direct you to this. [Link]

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. I love this peice. I think that the skills you're learning are really starting to come together.

It's especially eerie how the face depicted seems to be appearing from nowhere. There is a slight narrowness to the jaw that transfers this face from being to something slighlty more alien. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but the otherwordly quality of the face is definately something worth keeping.

As a whole, I really like it.

The original sketch is slightly 'off' as well, but through the course of doing this it changed more. When I draw/sketch from a source, be it life or pciture, I have this weird tendancy to change it somehow. Little things.

Glad you like it though and I'm flattered by your thoughts on it! :)
